Josh Straiton – Structural Integration Rolfer
Josh Straiton has been obsessed with the mind body connection since 13 years old. Transforming his own body as a young man, he quickly wanted to pass this knowledge onto others. Beginning to train people out of his parents garage at age 16, he continued on that path through college, where he obtained his bachelors in exercise science and became a certified strength and conditioning coach. After 10 years of training clients to strengthen their bodies and move freely, he noticed some patterns of chronic pain and tightness were challenging to relieve in his clients with training and stretching protocols alone. This lead him down a path to study massage at finger lakes school of massage therapy. While attending school, he discovered a kind of bodywork called structural integration. The goal of this work is to integrate the human structure by relating it to gravity over a series of 10 specific sessions designed to unravel the body in stages. This resonated as exactly what he needed to learn in order to correct the same issues he witnessed in his clients. Now a licensed massage therapist, he pursued and completed an apprenticeship to learn the work of structural integration. Finding the work to be transformative for himself and those around him, he is dedicated to guiding as many people as possible through the process of change that structural integration can provide.
